Transformers utilize the principle of magnetic coupling; the primary and secondary coils are not connected by wires but coupled through electromagnetic induction. The transformer transfers energy between the power grid and the load via magnetic flux. When an alternating current is passed through the primary winding, it generates an alternating magnetic flux. This flux passes through the secondary winding, inducing an electromotive force in the secondary winding. If a load is connected to the secondary winding, a current will flow in the circuit connected to the secondary winding, thus achieving the transmission and conversion of electrical energy.
