What is a coil? What is the principle of a coil?
A coil, superficially, looks like a spring made of metal wire, forming a helix. The center of the coil can be hollow, or a high-permeability magnetic material can be inserted, which serves to concentrate the magnetic force within a closer range to the coil. Therefore, coils can be seen in transformers, common-mode inductors, and differential-mode inductors.

What is an inductor? Definition of an inductor? Introduction to inductor characteristic parameters and categories
Inductors are one of the three major passive components, alongside resistors and capacitors, and are fundamental and widely used electronic components in electronic circuits. A passive component, the inductor is an electromagnetic induction component, typically formed by winding an insulated wire a certain number of turns around a support or core to form a coil, which is called an inductor coil or inductor. The main uses of inductors include filtering noise, suppressing transient currents, reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI), and power conversion.
What is the Q factor of an inductor? How to increase the Q factor?
Passive components, inductors in particular, are commonly used in various circuits. However, they are also richly categorized into various types based on different properties, forms, or structures. As for how to define the Q factor of an inductor coil, that's another matter.
How to determine if the inductor's heating is normal?
Inductive products will inevitably generate heat during use; therefore, there is no need to panic or be alarmed if you encounter an inductive product that is generating heat! It is important to understand that if the temperature of the inductor is below 45 degrees Celsius under normal circumstances, there is no need to worry (it must be noted that this refers to general circumstances and not special environmental requirements). If the temperature of the inductor is above 45 degrees Celsius, then it is necessary to further analyze the reasons for the heat generation.
Precautions for using inductors
• Mount the inductor onto the printed circuit board, ensuring that the component does not extend beyond the PCB. • Keep away from heat sources and high-temperature areas.
What is a transformer? What is the principle of voltage transformation?
The main components of a transformer are the primary winding N1, the secondary winding N2, and the iron core. Its main functions include voltage transformation, current transformation, isolation, impedance transformation, and voltage regulation.
