What are the losses of a transformer?

Transformer losses mainly include iron losses and copper losses. Iron losses refer to eddy current losses and hysteresis losses generated in the iron core under the action of an alternating magnetic field. They are related to the iron core material, magnetic field strength, and frequency. Copper losses refer to Joule heat losses generated by the resistance of the primary and secondary windings when current passes through them. They are related to the current magnitude and winding resistance.
